- A master class in cooking (and tasting) Adjarian dishes – we’ll teach you how to make cheese the local way and we’ll make a special dish known as borano that is made from cheeseWe’ll also prepare: Adjarian khachapuri, kathmer made from sugar, walnuts, and khachapuri dough, kalajo (an ancient Adjarian dish), Sinori and Chirbuli, Nadughi (a Georgian version of cottage cheese), and cucumber salad.
- An introduction to Adjarian customs – we’ll start learning about Adjarian traditions through songs: you’ll have the chance to listen to performances of old folk songs and learn to sing them yourself. You’ll also see local kids do Adjaran dances.
- Viticulture / Wine tasting / Vineyard care / Dinner in the vineyard – you will be able to pick grapes in the vineyard, learn the art of wine making and take part in the process, and taste different types of wine along with selected pairings of traditional dishes.
- Vodka distillation/tasting – While distilling vodka, you can learn the process of producing vodka. This includes how to prepare a vodka distilling device and how to regulate the amount of alcohol in vodka. This activity also involves tastingfreshly distilled vodka.
- Hiking in the mountains – We will organize a hike on Mount Nakonaghvri, located 7 kilometers from the cottage, reachable both on foot or by car. We will camp in the mountains and including 3 meals.
- Agro Tourism – You will be able to participate in agriculture practice yourself and pick cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, tkemali, various vegetables, and fruits in the garden and prepare jam or sauce with us.
- Cattle herding in the mountains – early in the morning you can join us to take the cattle to the mountains, have a nice break up there, taste the mountain cold springs, and have a little picnic.
- Comb removal and honey tasting – You will visit the bee hives of all beekeepers in the village and take part in the honey extraction process. We’ll indulge in tasting the honey products together. The honey is removed very slowly (with the help of the neighbors, with collective work) and the process is accompanied by a song.
- Study of folk handicrafts – you can take part in the production of the Georgian folk instruments “Panduri”, as well as learn various traditional handcrafts: felt, knitting and embroidery.
- Fishing, swimming, and dinner by the river – the river Akavra flows right by the hotel and it’s Gvarkha whirlpool is an ideal place for a picnic, fishing, and swimming in the cold mountain water. One kilometer from the river (via footpath) is Merris Falls. You can visit both spots, have dinner by the river, fish, and swim there too if you wish.
