Hello friends,
I am Khatia Turmanidze, from the village of Merisi and I would like to share with you our weekend hiking story.
You know Mogeli right, a German traveler 🙂 , who is hitchhiking in Keda, – for the past few days he has been our guest.
He had a great desire to go hiking and we decided to take him to my grandfather’s house up in the mountains.
✅ So on Saturday morning we went together to the mountains to see grandma and grandpa – with my mother, father and Mogeli. It is Just 7 kilometers to Grandpa’s house and we decided to walk. On the way we stopped near the spring – withh very beautiful picnic spot and very cold spring water.
✅My father took adjarian vodka out of the bag, me and my mother – pickles, Adjarian cornbread and cheese. We drank three toasts, sung a bit and continued our way. The closer we got to the mountain, the more you could see excitement on Mogeli’s face.
✅On the way I was telling him about the history of our village.
As soon as we climbed the mountains, as per tradition we heard the sound of Grandpa’s Panduri ( national instument) and the sound backgammon dice . Grandma greeted us in the yard and warmly welcomed our German guest.
✅ In the meantime, we set the table and tasted Adjarian dishes with Mogeli – Borano, Kaimaghi, Kuimaghi, and cheese made in the mountains. Grandpa taught Mogeli Adjarian song, and we performed the song in three voices.
✅Later we went to pick mushrooms, we reached the highest peak of the mountain Tepe, along with singing songs . This is a place from which the Caucasus Mountains and even the Black Sea can be seen, especially in a good weather.
✅We took photos and returned to the mountain hut within 10 minutes. By that time grandma was picking strawberries in the vegetable garden and we joined her. Actually we ate half of it, but we also kept some for dessert. In the evening, we made a bonfire we danced local dances and sang a lot.
✅ So my dear friends, this is the story of our trip to the mountain hut in short. By the way Mogeli was so impressed, he wanted to stay longer and so we left him with grandma and grandpa in the mountains and we came back to the village.
